LinuxLink Web Edition: Free, Cloud-based Embedded Linux Platform

Quickly prototype and benchmark applications on your development kit

in-the-cloud embedded Linux build system

LinuxLink Web Edition is Timesys's award-winning LinuxLink web version that enables developers to quickly boot embedded Linux on your development kit or reference board without having to first set up a development environment.

The Web Edition is great for quickly starting your embedded Linux product development. No need to waste time configuring and compiling tools and programs spread from dozens of sources or be restricted by the limited functionality included in the free Linux provided by board/semi vendors. Use the Web Edition to assemble a proven Linux platform for your project within a few minutes. Within a couple of hours, you’ll be alerted via email that your Linux image has been built and is ready for pick-up, including associated sources.

With the Web Edition, you’ll be running a bootable image on your target within a day.

You can choose to create an initial build by using a "starting point" or create a new build from scratch. Timesys starting points are prebuilt, so they can be used immediately or as a template for a custom platform.

LinuxLink Web Edition helps developers:

  • Quickly prototype and benchmark common applications on your development kit.
  • Have a bootable Linux image in a couple of hours.
  • Easily perform cross-compilation of complex packages.
  • Take advantage of Timesys’s award winning web interface which simplifies booting Linux to a few clicks.
  • Eliminate complexity and errors by automatically managing package dependencies.
  • Easily configure embedded Linux on multiple architectures, boards, processors.
  • Receive guidance — Based on best practices and board vendor recommendations, the Web Factory Platform Builder automatically provides recommendations about packages and libraries.
  • Stay current with community updates with regular update alerts for Linux platform components that are relevant to your development.
